Evelyne Merkx (°1947) is one of top 5 contemporary Dutch interior architects. Together with her partner, Patrice Girod, she runs her own architectural agency in Amsterdam, employing a staff of 20. Upon graduating from the Rietveld Academy, Merkx started up her own studio. She rose to fame largely on the strength of her redevelopment design for “De Bijenkorf” department store and her fresh approach to restyling the interior of Hema chain stores, as well as her renovation design for the famous Amsterdam Concert Building. |
